In this blog, I will be dropping some really easy, quick and nutrient rich fertilizers you can make at home only by using your kitchen waste!
The peels that end up in your dustbin are actually the biggest source of energy packs for the plants. So, the next time you throw something in the trash, watch it and reuse it.
A waste to one is a treasure to another, with this let’s get our hands in the kitchen trash.
Let me quickly get you acknowledged with the most important nutrients for the constant and lasting health of your potted plants.
Most important nutrient for a plant
NITROGEN - fosters growth
PHOSPHOROUS - contributes in the production of fruits and blooming of flowers
POTASSIUM - ensures the strength, well built and regulated photosynthesis of a plant, with a whopping root spread around the soil.
And you will have some wealthy, healthy plants too!RICE
You Having bowls and bowls of rice in a day is none of my business, but what indeed is, is making you aware about the benefits that comes with the rice stalk!
Genera - water fertilizer
Procedure -
Grab some rice units in a bowl.
Rinse them in water. Don’t throw the rice stalk away.
Pour it in your plants for a cured sprouting.
ONLINE PEEL
Genera - Powder, solid fertilizer
Procedure -
Get those onion peels in a container.
Drop some water in it and leave the container for three days.
You will see the colour of the liquid change as the pigments of onion are travelling in water.
Sprinkle them to your soil and get bright and enticing flowers within weeks.
Benefits - Phosphorous, zinc, calcium and Iron. The onion peels are packed with potassium, phosphorus and zinc and hence marking them as the best candidate especially for fruiting and flowering plants ! BANANA
I am pretty sure the gym freaks must be having tons of bananas to stay healthy, you blend it, chop it for your salad or cook it for your consumption but what about the peel?
Don’t just throw that out!
Genre - Water fertilizer.
Procedure -
Get that banana peel and slice it into little pieces.
Take a container, fill it with water and add those slices straight in!
Leave the container under some shed or dark place for two to three days, let all the richness of the peel get soaked in water.
You will be blessed with the beer coloured liquid.
Strain the diced peel chunks out and get the liquid in a different container! Pour in plant soil !
Benefits - What you have now is a liquid blend of potassium, magnesium, calcium and so much more! It will foster the growth of roots and the potassium content will accelerate the flowering of the plant.
TEA LEAVES
What do you do with the stained tea leaves after making a hot cup of tea? Throw them in the dustbin? Well put it to a good use, make your plants healthy and blooming with this one!
Genera - Water fertilizer
Procedure -
Obtain those residual stained tea leaves from your tea.
Rinse them thoroughly to dissipate the milk content seeped in the leaves.
Stain it again through fresh water and keep that aside, spread on a flat surface. Let them dry.
Now add them in a container, fill it with water and let it rest for two to three days.
You have gotten the best water fertilizer, pout that straight on the soil avoiding to target the leaves in the process. The odor of the tea leaves can attract bugs or insects causing damage.
Benefits :The nitrogen, the potassium and the phosphorus content are the strength of the plant. Your plant will show extensive leaf growth, vibrant flowers and tremendous root boom!
The curled, slouched plants also show dynamic strength through this fertilizer.
NPK SUBMIT
This is by far the wealthiest organic fertilizer on the list !
This is made with three different elements which ensures and vouches for the magical effect it has on plants. Among which, tomato plants, rose plants endeavor the most benefit.
It is made with - onion peels, egg peel and tea leaves.
Genre - a powder, solid fertilizer
Procedure -
Undrape the onion by plucking off all the dry peels, do the same with the egg - scratch all the egg shells, take the tea leaves and rinse them thoroughly in the water.
Spread all of them dry, (Remember we don’t want a paste, we want a powder - so it is mandatory to keep them dry)
Get your grinder churning and push all the three into it.
What you’ll get is a highly NPK rich powder that will do your plants justice.
A spoon or two in each plant, once a month and you’ll be good to go!
Perk - You can keep it stored and alive for about two to three months.
